Thank you Clarke County for your support of the Winter Market!
THURSDAY, APRIL 10 2008
This Saturday, April 12 from 9-noon, will be the last day for the Clarke Winter Market. The market was a HUGE success! Vendors were very pleased with their sales, customers continued to purchase their favorite items and we have been fortunate enough to have some wonderful weather each market day (I hope I didn’t jinx us for this weekend!). Clarke residents really understand the importance of locally grown products. The farmers and growers thank you for continuing to support local agriculture & open spaces. It’s so nice to be able to put a face with the product. Our vendors this week will consist of Black Dog Coffee, Oak Springs Dairy, Endless Summer Harvest, Carl’s Breads, Chef Eloy’s Kickin’ Salsa. Mackintosh Fruit Farm, Briars Farmstead, Virginia Lamb, Geneva Jackson and the second graders from Berryville Primary will offer canvas tote bags that have been decorated by the children for sale as a fundraiser. The regular season will begin on May 10 from 8-noon. We had four new vendors at the Winter Market and they enjoyed the winter market so much that three have decided to participate in the spring season: Oak Springs Dairy, Endless Summer Harvest and Blackwood Farms Honey. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of the vendors for their consistent attendance this winter. Your presence is a critical element of the success of the winter market so thank you for coming out each month! Thank you to the Town of Berryville, Berryville Police Department, Mayor Sponsellor & Keith Dalton for their support, to Christy Dunkle for loving the markets as much as she does, to the Clarke Times for allowing me this opportunity to begin this blog & Thanks to you, Clarke County, for supporting this new venture! The winter market will return again this winter. We look forward to seeing you all this Saturday at the market so come on out!
