A big thanks for memorial bike tour

On behalf of the Town of Berryville, we would like to thank all of those involved who made the third annual Rich Rau Memorial Bike Tour and Pancake Breakfast a wonderful tribute to our friend and colleague.

The event's sponsors included Berryville Main Street, Blue Ridge Bicycles, Broy and Son Pump Service, Lost Dog Bed and Breakfast, Main Street Architecture P.C., and Weatherproofing Systems Inc. We greatly appreciate Bill Baker from Black Bar Bicycles in Winchester for tech support before the ride. Dale Hainz of Logo Apparel made an extra effort to come in on Saturday to print additional T-shirts for registrants who signed up the day of the event in order to make sure all riders were able to go home with their shirt.

Also, the support of the Winchester Wheelmen has been crucial for the success of the ride the past three years. The Ham Radio Support Team was instrumental in the organization and safety while the riders were on the course. They included Mark Gribble, Mike and Teresa Orndorff, Tom Zyniecki and Karl Hamilton. We would also like to thank John H. Enders Fire Co., Clarke County Sheriff’s Department, Duncan Memorial Methodist Church Men’s Group (who received kudos from every participant on the ride), Becky Allanson, Laura Patten, Dave Tyrrell, Boyce Fire and Rescue and the Clarke County Historical Association. We would also like to thank the Rau family for their continued support and inspiration.
