Home sweet home

The Nei's new home is special, it's the first Habitat for Humanity home built in Clarke. Built on land donated by Jane Harrison, it will be a new home for Caleb and Briana Nei and their two children, Arielle, 8, and Ellis, 4. The Neis were encouraged to apply for the home by fellow church members at Emmaus Church. It's a good thing they did apply, because they were chosen as the new home owners.

The project showed the best side of Clarke. Volunteers were lead by Steve Priputen of Country Carpentry. The primary house sponsor is Wells Fargo Housing Foundation. Many other businesses and groups pitched in. Friends and family members and others helped the Neis complete the 350 hours they had to complete as part of the Habitat rules.

Clarke really came together to make this home happen. Habitat would like to build more homes in Clarke, but they can't do it without another donation of land. It's just too expensive to buy. So maybe someone could step up and make another family as happy as the Nei family is this holiday season.
