Police apprehend abduction suspect

Patrol officers arrested a Fairfax-area man on Oct. 3 after he allegedly attacked a 63-year-old woman inside her own home in Falls Church.

Saud Jabir Al-Amin, 24, of 12105 Ragan Court Road #303 in Fairfax was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and charged with abduction.

According to Fairfax County Police investigators, the woman arrived at her home in the 7000 block of Allan Avenue around 4:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3. While in her backyard, Al-Amin allegedly approached her and requested to use her phone.

Police said the woman allowed him inside and left to retrieve the phone when Al-Amin allegedly followed her to the bedroom and grabbed her. A struggle ensued between the two when the victim tried to run away, police said. The suspect allegedly fled the house and the victim called police.

Police said that with the help of neighbors, responding officers located Al-Amin nearby and took him into custody.
