Successful 2007 for Loudoun Mutual Insurance Co.
At the annual meeting of Loudoun Mutual Insurance, policyholders President Chris Shipe stated that 2007 overall was a successful year for the company.
Premium writings grew to more than $25 million, and the company became the second largest writer of farm-owner policies in Virginia.
During the past year, Loudoun Mutual’s assets grew to $48,128,000, and the company increased its financial strength by growing the policyholder security account to $28,981,638 -- an 18 percent over 2006.
For 2007, Loudoun Mutual served its policyholders by paying 1,833 claims totaling more than $8.4 million.
Also at the annual meeting, Winchester's Todd Robertson was promoted to the position of Vice President of Information Systems/Chief Information Officer. Robert W. Smalley Jr. of Berryville was elected Vice Chairman of the Board.
For 2008, the following officers and directors were re-elected: Bruce McIntosh II, Chairman of the Board; Christopher Shipe, President/CEO; Linda Mock, Corporate Secretary; April Bridgeman, Vice President-Claims; Loyd Hutchison, Vice President-Accounting; David King, Vice President-Marketing; Timothy Koppenhaver, Vice President-Underwriting. John Clemens of Round Hill, Richard Oliver of Orange, George Titus of Leesburg and Robert Smalley were re-elected as directors.
Loudoun Mutual Insurance was founded in 1849 and is Loudoun County’s oldest continually operated business. Through a network of independent agencies, Loudoun Mutual insures the homes and farms of more than 39,000 Virginians. The company is rated A- Excellent by A.M. Best.
