Hats off to our student leaders

A leader shows commitment, initiative, patience and good judgment. Most of all, a leader inspires others and leads by example.

This week, the Clarke Times-Courier presents its annual recognition of the county's Future Leaders.

The stories featured in this edition focus on high school seniors who are living lives of meaning and purpose. We're showcasing students from Clarke County who excel in the arts, Scouts, volunteer organizations, community groups, theater, band, athletics, and other fields where teens achieve and make positive strides.

These extraordinary young men and women realize they can use their passions and interests to influence the future. They're displaying an inner drive to succeed.

Readers often tell us there's not enough "good news" in the newspaper. Featuring these fine students' lives and activities is about as good as good news can get.

Make no mistake--Clarke County's future is in good hands.
