Golfers sought for tournaments

Rotary Club: Clarke County Rotary Club's Fourth Annual Golf Tournament is scheduled May 19 at Rock Harbor Golf Course in Winchester.

The afternoon of golf will benefit Clarke County Rotary Club’s civic service projects, including the Clarke County Band Association and the Barns of Rose Hill.

The 2007 outing was a huge success, with the Rotary Club giving more than $6,000 to support community projects.

For more information, call or email Brad Snowden at (540) 665-5455 or bsnowden@su.edu.

Laurel Center: Golfers are invited to enter the Laurel Center's Sixth Annual Tournament on June 20 at Rock Harbor Golf Course in Winchester. A putting contest will begin at noon, followed at 1 p.m. by a shotgun start.

The Laurel Center, formerly the Shelter for Abused Women, is based in Winchester and serves that city and the counties of Clarke and Frederick.

Entry fee is $80 for a single golfer or $310 per foursome, if prepaid by June 1. Hole sponsorships are available for businesses.

If interested, contact Phyllis McGovern at (540) 535-1209.
