The Clarke County Sheriff's Office is searching for Jose Cuevas-Gonzalez, 53, whose address is unknown.

Warrant issued for arrest of suspect in shootings

The Clarke County Sheriff's Office issued a warrant July 11 for the arrest of the suspect in the July 9 shootings in White Post.

The Clarke County Sheriff's Office is searching for Jose Cuevas-Gonzalez, 53, whose address is unknown. He is wanted on charges of attempted murder in the shooting of Daniel Guerrero-Lopez, 28. He also is the primary suspect in the death of Juan Francisco-Cortez, according to the Sheriff's Office. Both victims, found in a car on Nelson Road, are believed to be residents of Charlotte, N.C.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials assisted in the identification of Cuevas-Gonzalez. According to ICE, he is in the United States illegally.
