Project Linus, a new RSVP Volunteer Station affiliate, provides blankets for children seriously ill or traumatized. “Blanketeer” volunteers are needed to work in your own at home crocheting or sewing small blanket squares. These squares are then put together in blanket size by additional volunteers in a group setting. If you want to help provide warmth, a sense of security and comfort to ill or traumatized children, and if you have some interest in sewing or crocheting squares, then this might be the perfect volunteer opportunity for you.
Clarke County Library needs volunteers to help with book shelving in the mornings. Qualifications for this volunteer position include an ability to alphabetize and attention to detail. You must be able to stretch and bend to reach books on high and low shelves and also be able to go up and down stairs carrying books.
