Berryville Town Council meeting brief
At its regular meeting on March 11, the Berryville Town Council held a public hearing and unanimously approved a proposal granting easements to the Washington Gas Light Company. The company had committed to serve the new joint town and county government center with natural gas, but was having difficulty securing routes to extend a gas main to the property.
Washington Gas has agreed to compensate the town $4,000 for use of a conduit that was previously installed under Main Street, and $550 for the easement across the park.
The town’s attorney, Bob Mitchell, reviewed the basic easement and saw no problems with the document
