Subdivisions get planning OK

Three small subdivisions, each for two lots, won approval from the county Planning Commission March 7.

They are for properties located at 268 Triple J Road near Berryville, at the request of the estate of Savannah McDonald; at 6004 John Mosby Highway near the Blandy Experimental Farm, at the request of developer Richard Dimmel; and at 85 Iron Rail Lane near Waterloo, at the request of owner Anne Morgan.

The commission’s June 2007 approval of Dimmel’s subdivision had expired because it was not recorded within six months.

Morgan’s request had been delayed for several months while concerns about the proximity of a proposed drainfield near a spring were resolved.

Morgan told planners she also wants to put the property in conservation easement and give up a dwelling unit right.
