Thomas Richard Agner, 60, of Winchester, died April 21 at Winchester Medical Center. He was born March 21, 1948 in Staunton, the son of William and Virginia Shifflett Agner.
Mr. Agner worked at the Bank of Clarke County. He was a teacher at Johnson-Williams Middle School in Berryville, and managed convenience stores in the Winchester area.
Mr. Agner was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Berryville, serving on the vestry. He was past president of the Clarke County Education Foundation. He was active in the Winchester Little Theatre, and was town crier for the Clarke County Sesquicentennial Celebration.
Survivors include two daughters, Lesley Case of Atlanta, Ga., and Abby Sours of Winchester; a son, Wally Agner of Atlanta; and two grandsons. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
A memorial service will be at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 24 at Grace Episcopal Church with the Rev. Canon Dwight L. Brown officiating. Burial will be private.
