Phyllis Arlene Grimes Noakes

Died April 19, 2008
 


Phyllis Arlene Grimes Noakes, 70, of Front Royal, died April 19 at her home. She was born Aug. 29, 1937, in Clarke County, the daughter of Henry William Stickel and Fannie Wilson Stickel Fox. She was employed at Abex for 26 years.

Mrs. Noakes was a member of Greenway Spirit and Word Fellowship Church in Stephens City.

She married Clarence D. Noakes Jr. on Dec. 17, 1994, in Browntown.

Survivors include two daughters, Joy Wood of Berryville and Jo Ann Tipton of Boyce; two sons, William P. Grimes Jr. and Jamie E. Grimes, both of Front Royal; two brothers, John H. Stickel of Millwood and Thomas C. Stickel of Boyce; a sister, Gloria V. Virts of Winchester; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Noakes was preceded in death by a son, Walter Lee Grimes.

Funeral services were held April 22 at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home Chapel in Berryville, with the Rev. Robert K. Vineyard. Burial took place in Green Hill Cemetery in Berryville.

Pallbearers were Jamie Grimes, Randolph Richards, Michael Wood, Robert Wood, Charlie Wood, Allen Fletcher, and Dominic Seriva.
